    Hi,

we are about to order the bulk production for men’s and women’s t-shirt. How do we decide how many to make of each size?

    For men we’ll have S M L XL
    and for women we’ll have XS S M L

When it comes to size distribution it can differ a bit from country to country. You can take a look at this chart from 2016 when it comes to t-shirt purchased worldwide:

    Size distribution

The distribution often resembles a Gaussian distribution curve (google it if you are not familiar).
In your case when you have 4 sizes, our recommendation would be to start with a ratio of 1:2:2:1 (where you produce most of M & L for men and most S and M for women).

When it is time to produce more garments you can look at your own sales data to make adjustments to the distribution ratio, that is more tailored to your brand’s situation.

    Hello,

I am a bit confused on sizing for my brand. I am planning to get my garments made from India and sell online only. I live in USA and I want to sell worldwide on Etsy, Amazon etc and I also want to sell in India on Jabong, Flipkart, Amazon.in etc.

My products are Scarves, coverups, capes and Ponchos. I know the psychographics of my customers. My designs are contemporary with little ethnic touch. I am planning to get sizes produced from S-XL. My only confusion is how will it serve body types worldwide? body types and shapes differ place to place. Is there any universal standard sizing that I can follow for measurements?

    Thanks

    Rutu
