But I have some thoughts on this:
– it’s a cultural thing. That’s why it’s important that you know your market and target customer and know exactly who you’re talking and pitching to. In many cultures they don’t even go out when it’s raining or bad weather, period. You’d have to convince an entire nation and change their perspective and then they might see the value of your offer…that’s a really steep uphill as a brand.Also one barrier is the fact that people can get outdoor kids gear for really cheap, and it only has to last their age, till they grow out of it….. That’s where your idea is great, for the conscious parent that want to educate their kids and show them a different path – you give a better alternative, education and a better product. here again, knowing your target customer is the key to sales.
What you have that not many brands have, is the access to so many parents and their network. use this and get the conversation going. Create a questionnaire, a bonfire and talk about these things and the issue with kids outdoor gear, from their perspective.
